From the official DMB site:
Keyboardist Butch Taylor has decided to leave Dave Matthews Band. We are saddened by this sudden news but he has our full support. He’s given so much to us and our audience through the years and he will be missed.
Butch Taylor has been with the band for 10 years, and was with them everywhere they went; studio and road included. Fans always wondered why Butch was never recognized as an official member of the band, but many considered him just that. We at DMB Fan Site would like to wish Butch the best of luck in the future!
UPDATE: From sources over at antsmarching.org, it has been confirmed that Butch left on his own accord, and for “personal reasons”. Once again, best of luck!

According to an interview by Billboard, the band has been working with the producer Robert Cavallo and old band-friend Tim Reynolds on the new studio album for the past couple months. In the interview, Boyd Tinsley emphasized that the album is very much a whole band work, and the output so far being songs that Tinsley compared to the band’s older works, such as those off of Under the Table and Dreaming and Before These Crowded Streets. He also noted that many songs are lyric-less and have a small chance of being played this summer. Excerpt from the article after the break.

HeadCount, a not-for-profit organization made to encourage American voter registration. This year it will once again make an appearance at all U.S. Dave Matthews Band shows. In 2004, HeadCount registered 12,161 voters - a record high - and expects to beat that this summer, especially considering the mass amount of attention the race has gotten.

As reported from a source close to a band, Tim Reynolds has made changes to his tour dates with TR3 to be able to tour with the Dave Matthews Band for the whole summer. Tim is usually known to play only with Dave Matthews, while him playing with the band has become a rarity recently. At first it was thought that he would only play with them for a couple of shows, however that has been disproven. This gives fans yet another reason to anticipate a great tour, especially with an upcoming album bound to released soon.

We’ve decided to take a whole new direction with the site, and we have! To start things off, I’m sure all of you notice that the new URL to the site is no longer dmbfansite.com, as .com standed for commercial. No, we couldn’t confuse you - we are a not-for-profit site. Now, our new url is dmbfansite.org, because we are a gathering, an organization of DMB fans across the globe! Next, we have a new web host - Topclasshost. They are highly recommended by the way and can be found under the links section. Because of this host change we now have MySQL, PHP, and many other benefits that were never thought possible before. First of all, the wallpaper will work at all times, as I am no longer hosting it on my personal computer, and will load much faster. There will also be various updates in days to come throughout the site.
Our next major change is our forum - we have transferred to phpBB3, the newest and most user-friendly forum available. All who were registered on our earlier system have been automatically re-registered and their new e-mail has been sent out. Our forum can be accessed through: forums.dmbfansite.org.
Our most efficient change however is our news system. We have updated to Wordpress after many problems. However now we are looking for a news reporter, so if you’re interested you can use our new contact us page to send us your inquiry.
Hope you enjoy the new DMB Fan Site. Remember, eat drink and be merry!
UPDATE: Our Discography has also been updated for ease of use! Enjoy
