Friday, May 1st, 2009

event_imageIn an exciting two-part contest, the Official Dave Matthews Band site is tackling social networking. It asks those who enter to start a Facebook Event for a Advanced Big Whiskey Listening Party between May 23 and May 25. The top 100 events with the most members will then win an advanced (but watermarked) copy of the newest Dave Matthews Band album, ‘Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King,’ thus making the 100 possible events a reality. Then, those who are hosting are encouraged to record their party, and the host of the party with the most people attending, best theme, and most originality will then “win a trip to meet Dave Matthews and see DMB perform live from the front row at Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL on Saturday, August 15th!” Entries are due May 12, so there isn’t much time, and if you are entering, good luck! Nancies Shutting Its Doors

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

Nancies.org, the decade-old pivotal fan site of Dave Matthews Band history and winner of the VH1 Best Fan-Site Award in 2001 is closing down. The forum is undergoing archival, while the rest of the site will not be updated any further.

The site was once the place to be, however a migration of users to newer sites with more features brought its slow demise. We would like to wish Waldo, Shep and all the other guys the best of luck in the future, and to thank them for what they did in alterting all the DMB fan sites of today, ours included.
